Introducing Me

Introducing Me

Who am I?  Well, my name, as you may have guessed is, Sandy Kay Slawson.  You can call me Sandy, though, because Sandy Kay Slawson would be a little awkward to have to say every time, I come up in conversation, which will probably be often...right?  OK, OK....back on subject.  Who I am is more than my name.  I am many things actually.  I am a wife of 28 years to my wonderful Hubby Carlos.  I am a mother to 4 fantastic "kids" and an awesome son-in-law with a son-in-law and daughter-in-law wannabes waiting in the wings.  I am Nana to 3 grand babies that make being old enough to be a grandmother so worth it!  I love to line dance, mostly in my living room by myself, but every now and then I can drag the Hubby and kids in to try with me.  I am an exerciser.  Twice a day, almost every day for about 5 years, I am careful with what I eat and how much I eat and I still don't look like a model...go figure.  I am a reader.  I love to read.  Reading opens up the world to me.  Through reading I learn about things, I never would have heard about.  Through reading I go places, I would never have gone.  I am a Writer.  For most of my life, I have either been writing stories or thinking about stories, I would like to write about.  My journey started a long time ago, but I was going nowhere, until the last year or so, anyway.  There are many things about my journey as a Writer I want to share with you, but for now let's just say, I write and it is a passion for me.  One of them... my husband, children and grand babies are also passions for me.

Introducing Jesus Christ

My greatest passion is Jesus Christ.  If I were to die today,  who I am or was, will only matter to a few people.  You may remember me for a short time, but the loss of me, will make no change in the lives of most everyone in the world.  So, although I hope I stick around long enough for us to get to know each other and I hope I stick around long enough to make some difference in your life, knowing me is probably not going to be life changing for you.  But knowing Jesus Christ is life changing, it is eternal life changing.  So who is Jesus Christ?  He is the Son of God.  He is Savior and Lord.  He is the Only Way to go to Heaven.  Knowing Him in a personal way changes EVERYTHING!  So whatever you see in me that is good, is because of Him.  Whatever I write that makes a difference in your life, give Him the credit.  I am His child and His tool.  He put the desire and passion in my heart to write and I pray He will use it for His glory.  Below are a few Bible passages to tell you better about the Lord Jesus.  The Bible is God's Word and Truth.  Reading the Bible everyday should come before any other reading you do.  I would love for you to read my stuff, but don't read it, unless you have read your Bible first.  It contains the Words of Life.

John 6:67-69
67So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?” 68Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, 69and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”

John 3:16-18
16“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Romans 8:31-35
31What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?36As it is written,
“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
    we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
In Christ,
Sandy Kay Slawson
